Things to do in Savannah, Ga. MANY PEOPLE love coming to Tybee Island, especially this time of year.Every year I try to make it down to Tybee Island, GA for a visit. It is one of the hidden treasures of the Southeast coast! Every year, Tybee Island's idyllic North Beach is transformed into a surreal landscape dotted with elaborate castles and wild creatures cast. May 18th, 2012 at 6:30PM is the Tybee Island Beach Bum Parade.his popular annual tradition on Tybee Island will feature a parade as well as a massive island-wide water fight.The Beach Bum Parade might surprise the unsuspecting visitor. Like most parades, there are floats pulled behind cars and trucks.An annual event that is much anticipated by the locals on Tybee Island. Tybee Island Beach Bum parade is not your ordinary parade. This one is unique and special. Parade partcipants and parade goers battle in the areas largest water fight.
